LEXINGTON, Va. – The Concord University men's track & field team came up with several strong performances at the VMI Winter Relays Friday and Saturday.
Senior
Issac Prather had the best showing over the weekend as he broke the program record in the mile run. The Summersville, West Virginia ran 4:15.14 to break
Jason Weitzel's three-year old record by just over a second. Prather clocked the fastest time in the event in the MEC this season with Saturday's showing as he finished fourth.
Freshman
Logan Zuchelli came through in 4:24.32 as he finished 13
th, and sophomore
Preston Prather stopped the timer at 4:32.05 to finish 21
st in the mile.
Freshman
Terryn Patterson-Bryant climbed up the MEC rankings in the 60-meter dash as he broke seven seconds in the 60-meter dash for the first time in his career, sprinting 6.96 and placing ninth at VMI. Patterson-Bryant is now third in the MEC.
P. Prather had an impressive double over the weekend as he finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:48.27.

Marcus Wilson claimed sixth as the they combined for a time of 3:36.24.
In field event action, fifth-year senior
JT Turner marked 12.42 meters in the shot put to finish 15
th.
Freshman
Jonny Sweeney was 17
th in the 500-meter dash as he clocked a time of 1:24.61 to round out the competitors for the Mountain Lions.
Concord is back in action next Saturday, February 5 at the Liberty Open.
