BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team has earned the number one seed in next week's Mountain East Conference Tournament, the league office announced Friday night at the conclusion of all regular season game.
Concord finished the eight-game regular-season slate with a 7-1 mark and 21 points in the conference. Additionally, CU won the MEC South Division by recording 15 point to second-place Charleston's 13 points.
This is the second straight season that the Mountain Lions have been the top seed in the MEC Tournament, winning the championship in the fall of 2019. After a 3-0 win over Fairmont State in the MEC Semifinals, CU will host the MEC Championship Game 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia. This will be the third straight MEC Championship Game appearance for the Mountain Lions.Â
