ATHENS, W.Va. – Throughout the fall semester, the Concord University Sports Information Department will be looking back at different events and games that has shaped Concord Athletics to what it is today in a "On This Day" segment.
On this day in 2014, the Concord University men's golf team won its second straight Mountain East Conference Championship as it held off West Liberty by 14 strokes at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
Thomas Frazier just missed medalist honors at MEC Championship as he finished with a 54-hole score of 222, one shot back of WLU's Matt Iceton. Sam Berry placed third as he shot 226 in three days.
Andrew Green tied for 11
th with a card of 237 for 54 holes. The final scoring golfer for the Mountain Lions,
Todd Albaugh, tied for 33
rd with a total of 252.
Overall, it the eighth conference championship for the men's golf program at Concord.
