ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team begins its stretch run to finish the regular season when it hosts Charleston 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the Carter Center.

RECORDS
Concord is 10-17 overall after a win at Salem Wednesday and is 4-8 in the Mountain East Conference.
UC is 8-19 this season and 3-8 against league foes.
POSTSEASON PICTURE
Concord, Charleston and Fairmont State are all battling it out for the final two spots in the MEC Tournament which begins November 21. CU has four regular season matches left while both Charleston and FSU have five. To start the weekend, Fairmont State is a half-game ahead of Concord in the standings for seventh while CU is a half-game ahead of Charleston for the eighth spot.
A win Friday would give Concord a season split with the Golden Eagles. The Mountain Lions dropped their only meeting with Fairmont State this season in late October.
ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS
By going over 1,000 attack attempts over the weekend at Davis & Elkins, sophomore outside hitter
Camryn Huber now qualifies for all-time hitting percentage at Concord. The Buies Creek, North Carolina native is 13
th in program history with a mark of .145. In the assist record book, senior setter
Jenna Mounts is six assists away from becoming the sixth player in the program with 1,800 for a career.
SEASON SWEEP
In non-conference action against Salem, Concord downed the Tigers in three sets to take both matches this season. Sophomore middle hitter
Sheridan Herron led CU with eight kills to make it five of the last six matches that she's had at least six kills. Sophomore setter
Imani Rodgers finished three assists shy of her career best with 37 against Salem while missing a double-double by two digs. The Mountain Lions nearly matched their season high in service aces with 10 as the season best is 11. Herron and junior outside hitter
Kirsti Pouncy each had three.
FIRST TIME AROUND
In that first match with Charleston this season, the Golden Eagles defeated CU in four sets. Concord let a 24-22 lead slip away in the first set before winning the second set. But, UC won the third and fourth games to win the match. Huber rolled up a team-best 13 kills. Junior defensive specialist
Lindsay Maddox added 33 digs which sent her on a stretch where she had at least 20 digs in five of the next six matches. Maddox is fifth in the MEC in digs per sets (4.5) while UC libero Kelsey Matusic (4.4) is right behind.
CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
Seven of the eight wins for the Golden Eagles have come at home this season with their lone road win coming against Kentucky State. UC also has a head-to-head loss against Fairmont State that started a current five-match losing streak. Janeese VerVelde leads Charleston with 216 kills this season. VerVelde had 16 kills against Concord in the first match this season while Jaxin Melby added 10.
