Concord is 8-4-2 after a 4-1 setback versus West Virginia Wesleyan Thursday. In the Mountain East Conference, CU is 6-3-1.
In its first year as a program, Glenville State is 0-15 overall and 0-11Â in the MEC.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Prior to the contest, six seniors will be recognized by head coach
Luke Duffy and the Concord coaching staff. CU's seniors are
Joanna Aiello,
Makayla Ballenger,
Delaney Crumblish,
Pilar Elias,
Katelyn Gibbs and
Taylor Life.
The captain for the 2018 team, Aiello has appeared in 66 career games with 64 starts since the fall of 2015. Aiello has one career assist, but has spent the last two seasons as a central defender for the Mountain Lions. Over that time frame, the Welland, Ontario native has helped Concord to 14 shutouts including six this season.
After transferring from Queens in Charlotte, Ballenger has appeared in five career games at Concord in the last two seasons with one start.
Also a transfer from Queens—the school where Duffy came from as an assistant—Crumblish has played in 32 career games in the Maroon and Gray while starting 14 of those contests. In her two seasons in Athens, Crumblish has netted eight with four coming in each season. Earlier this season, the Clermont, Florida native had multi-goal games against Felician and Glenville State.
One of the most successful goal scorers in program history, Elias is sixth all-time in goals scored at CU with 22. Additionally, by recording an assist in the WVWC contest, the Waterville, Maine native moved into seventh place all-time in career points at CU with 55. In 2018, Elias is tied for the MEC lead in goals with seven and is fourth in total points with 18. As a junior, Elias was an all-region selection.
Gibbs has suited up for the Mountain Lions in 32 career games while making 15 starts. During her freshman season, Gibbs scored her only collegiate goal in her collegiate debut at Converse. All of the games Gibbs has played in during her career have come as a defender for Concord.
Despite missing a large portion of the 2015 season due to injury, Life has still played in 34 career games at CU with 10 starts. Life tallied her first career point earlier this season in Concord's 12-0 win at Glenville State.
The four-year seniors for the Mountain Lions have won 26 games, and the two-year seniors help propel CU to the MEC Tournament in 2017 for the first time in program history. It was also the first time Concord made a postseason appearance since 2012.
In Concord's 12-0 victory at Glenville State September 23, the Maroon and Gray had four different players register multi-goal games. Along with Crumblish, sophomore midfielders Sarah Hill,
Mira Kontio and
Courtney Wallace each had two goals.
Freshman forward OIivia Medieros scored her first collegiate goal while also racking up three points. Elias added three points with a goal and an assist.
Over the last two years, Concord is 7-3-2 in true home games after being 4-7-6 in the previous two campaigns.
Wallace enters Sunday's game having scored a goal in three straight games. The Castleford, England has also recorded at least one point in four consecutive contests.
GLENVILLE STATE AT A GLANCE
Hannah Beaty has made 167 saves, 13.9 per game, for the Pioneers.
