MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Junior forward Pilar Elias scored her second goal of the season against Shepherd despite the loss for the Mountain Lions. Elias is halfway to her total from last season of four goals.

Freshman forward Sarah Hill leads Concord with four goals this season. The top scorer for CU last year was Elias with four goals.

On Elias' goal, sophomore defender Ali Cook assisted the score as Concord drew to within 2-1 of Shepherd late Wednesday, but could not complete the comeback.

Cook is tied for the team lead in assist with freshman forward Sara Bane and freshman midfielder Courtney Wallace. The most assists for a CU player last season was two by junior defender Joanna Aiello and senior defender Sarah Akers.

Bane has made a difference in the past couple of games for the Mountain Lions as she picked up her first career goal at Urbana while also adding her second assist of the season.

Over the last two games, CU has been peppering the goal with a combined 21 shots on goals. It is the second time this season Concord has had 20 or more shots on goal in a two-game span.

Earlier this season, the Mountain Lions rolled up 21 shots on goal against Salem International and West Liberty.

With the six-goal output at Urbana Sunday, Concord now ranks in a tie for third in the MEC in goals score wtih 15.

Freshman forward Sarah Hill is second in the league in goals (four).

CU and Wheeling Jesuit have split the last four contests with each team winning at home in each instance.

Two years ago, Elias and senior midfielder Micharae Thompson accounted for two of the three goals in a 3-2 Concord victory. Elias scored the game-winning goal in the 60th minute of a Mountain Lions' last season at Anderson Field. Elias has five career points versus the Cardinals as she also assisted on sophomore forward Megan Walsh's goal last season.
