ATHENS, W.Va- The Concord University women's soccer team will face a stern test on the road when it travels to Notre Dame College before making the trip to Buckhannon to face West Virginia Wesleyan.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord stands at 3-3-2 (3-2-2 MEC) on the year. West Virginia Wesleyan remains the last unbeaten team in the MEC, posting a 6-0-2 record overall (5-0-2 MEC). Notre Dame College is 5-1-2 overall, with a 4-1-2 record in conference play.Â
The Mountain Lions will face a demanding test defensively from NDC and West Virginia Wesleyan, two of the higher scoring teams in the Mountain East.Â
The Bobcats have netted 15 times this year, while the Falcons have scored 10 goals in seven games so far this season.Â
Concord's defense has been adept at keeping opponents out of the goal so far this season.Â

Concord's most recent clean sheet at West Liberty was hard fought as sophomore goalkeeper
Emily Simpkins was forced to make seven saves to preserve a shutout.
The seven saves propels the sophomore net minder into the top five all-time in saves in Concord history. Simpkins now has 140 career saves, just 18 behind fourth-place Kristin Mahaffey.
The Mountain Lions have kept things close with the top teams in the MEC this season, falling to league-leading Charleston by just one goa, and falling short against West Virginia Wesleyan 2-0.Â
The next two matchups are important as far as playoff positioning goes.Â
Concord trails West Liberty and Notre Dame by three points for the final playoff spot in the Mountain East.
CU and WLU drew 0-0 on Wednesday. West Virginia Wesleyan holds a six point cushion in second place with 17 points.

SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
The Falcons are coming off of a narrow 1-0 loss to league-leading Charleston.
NDC has only given up the lone goal to the Golden Eagles in its three home games this season.
Alexis Manoa leads the Falcons in points, tallying three goals and two assists on the year.Â
NDC has only conceded five goals all season, four of which have come in the second half of play.Â

SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
The Bobcats have not conceded a goal in their past five games.Â
The only two goals the Bobcats have given up this season have come to NDC.Â
WVWC has also scored 11 goals in its past four games.Â
Shannon Shawgo and Emily Knight each have three goals this season.Â
