Hammonds set the pace in the heptathlon for the Mountain East Conference by scoring the most points in the conference in the event this spring. She tallied 4,578 points points at the 49er Classic in Charlotte over the weekend. She finished fifth and was the first Division II finisher. Among the highlights for Hammonds were 818 points in the 200-meter dash, 787 points points in the 100-meter hurdles and 695 points in the 800-meter run. Hammonds had the fifth-best javelin throw of the year in the MEC within the heptathlon as she marked 35.40 meters.
