Fitzwater became the second All-American in program history for the women's basketball team after being named to the distinction by both the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association and Women's Basketball Coaches' Association. Fitzwater was voted Second Team All-American by the D2CCA and Honorable Mention by the WBCA. Fitzwater averaged 20.6 points and 12.2 rebounds during the 2021 season while shooting 68.1 percent from the field and blocking over four shots per game.
