ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team dropped a home match to Charleston Friday night in Mountain East Conference action inside the Carter Center.
The set scores were 11-25, 16-25, 23-25.
The Mountain Lions (10-7, 2-1 MEC) recovered from a tough first set as they only trailed 10-9 in the second after a kill from senior outside hitter
Chloe Thompson. CU stayed right in the set after a kill from sophomore middle hitter
Addie Adkins. Trailing 16-13, Concord watched Charleston (7-8, 1-2 MEC) go on a 6-2 run that opened up the second set.
CU controlled the middle portion of the third set as it reeled off four straight points to go up 19-15. Thompson had a kill while Adkins threw in a solo block during the spurt. But, UC rallied and went up 23-20. Facing match point, junior right side
Maddie Stull provided one of her five kills.
However, an unforced error ended the match.
Thompson had seven kills for Concord. Adkins threw in six kills while Stull contributed five kills.

Camille Testerman recorded six and five digs, respectively.
The Mountain Lions travel to West Virginia Wesleyan 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
