Lacie Lewis of the Concord University softball team has been voted as the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Lewis, a native of Kearneysville, West Virginia, is the MEC Player of the Week for the final week of the season after her sensational finish to the regular season.
In a 5-1 week for the Mountain Lions on the diamond, Lewis batted .458 (11-for-24) with five home runs and 13 RBI. She also added a double as she slugged 2.455 over six games.
Last Monday, Lewis was 3-for-3 with two home runs and a career-best five RBI in a 13-0 win over Point Park. She added a third home run in the doubleheader against Point Park. At West Virginia Wesleyan, Lewis was just 1-for-8 as CU split the twinbill. However, she responded by going 6-for-10 in two wins at Davis & Elkins. Lewis drove in two runs in a 12-6 game one win before recording her fifth career multi-homer game in game two as she collected four RBI.
With the performances, Lewis hit two milestones in her career. She went over 200 career hits while also moving into second place on the home run list at CU with 30 career long balls.
Charleston's Addison Mass was the MEC Pitcher of the Week.
Concord begins the MEC Tournament 2:30 p.m. Wednesday against Frostburg State at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia.
