COMIN' UP CLUTCH
Concord secured a split at Glenville State Wednesday afternoon as it won game two, 3-2, in comeback fashion. Senior infielder
Lacie Lewis had the game-tying hit in the top of the seventh as her single scored junior infielder
Kendall Morgan. A double from freshman outfielder
Grace Dodson brought in senior catcher
Kayla Sholter in the top of the eighth. For Lewis, it guaranteed her sixth straight game with at least one RBI, dating back to last weekend against Frostburg State. And for Dodson, it was her second career double—the first since February 8 against Carson-Newman—and just her fourth RBI of the year. Wednesday was also CU's first win of the season when trailing in the seventh inning.
RARE COMPANY
Sophomore pitcher/infielder
Reghan Hintz continues to make her way up the single-season strikeout leaderboard at Concord. After recording three strikeouts in six innings at Glenville State, the Melfa, Virginia native now stands at 121 strikeouts for the season which places her sixth for a single season at CU. With four strikeouts over the weekend, Hintz would become the fifth player in program history with at least 125 strikeouts in a season, the first since Caitlyn Bauer in 2022 when she had 134. Offensively, Lewis continues to leave her mark on the offensive record books. With her 25
th career home run at GSU, Lewis tied her sister, Lauren, for third on the all-time home runs list at Concord. She also tallied four RBI in the doubleheader to move into eighth on the all-time RBI list at CU with 109.
KEEP THE STREAK GOING
The Mountain Lions have won five straight games against Salem and 12 of the last 14 ahead of Sunday's doubleheader. Concord piled up 16 runs in a sweep at SU last season, including 12 in game one. Hollis was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Senior outfielder
Alina Giles and Sholter both added a pair of RBI. Hollis has at least one RBI in three of the four career games she has played against the Tigers. The McMinnville, Tennessee native homered two years ago at home versus Salem. CU tossed its first no-hitter in program history in a 4-0 game two win at Salem last April.
GET BACK GAMES
Concord swept Point Park during the regular season last year, but it was the Pioneers that ended CU's season in the MEC Tournament by winning 4-1. Morgan had a pair of two-hit games in three meetings with Point Park last season while Hollis was responsible for a go-ahead RBI double late in a 5-3 win in game one of the regular-season meeting in 2025. Hintz tossed 3.2 innings of scoreless relief to pick up a win at PPU last April. Morgan had Concord's only RBI in the MEC Tournament tilt as her single scored Hintz in the third inning. Hintz also tossed four innings in the conference tournament game versus PPU, allowing one run.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Salem is coming off getting swept by Point Park on the road Wednesday afternoon. Kendall Lemley is responsible for 10 of the 14 wins in the circle for the Tigers. Four Tigers are hitting .300 or better on the year led by Ali Shreve with a .336 average to go with 12 doubles and 26 RBI. Brooke Wise has smacked 11 doubles. Bella Ortiz is yet to be thrown out in 16 stolen-base attempts.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
In the doubleheader sweep of SU, PPU racked up a season-high 16 runs in a 16-5 win before holding on for a 5-4 victory in game two. Point Park does visit Glenville State before coming to Athens, but has some momentum heading into the weekend with a 4-3 record in its last seven games. Mia Arndt leads the Pioneers in home runs (five), slugging percentage (.500) and stolen bases (29). Arndt is batting .313. Emma Henry hits a team-best .327 on the year.
