BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Senior outfielder
Korbin Bostic of the Concord University baseball team has been tabbed as the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Bostic, a native of Logan, West Virginia, earns the weekly honor for the second time this season after batting .417 (5-for-12) with three home runs, a double and 12 RBI across five games—CU went 3-2 in those contests.
Bostic did the most of his damage in a four-game set against West Virginia State as Concord won three of four games versus the Yellow Jackets. He opened up the series with a grand slam. In game two, he tied his career high with six RBI that included two home runs. Bostic had two more RBI in game three of the series.
He reached base a total of 10 times against West Virginia State—five hits and five walks—including drawing three walks in the series finale. Bostic scored seven times, had a slugging percentage of 1.250 for the week and an OPS of 1.838 in five games.
Frostburg State's Bryce Bauer and Point Park's Camden Dimidjian shared MEC Pitcher of the Week honors.
The Mountain Lions face Charleston in a four-game series starting 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
