STRINGING ZEROS
Sophomore pitcher/outfielder
Reghan Hintz continued her stellar pitching in conference play as she tossed a five-inning shutout against Glenville State Wednesday afternoon. Hintz surrendered just two hits and ran her consecutive scoreless innings streak to 15. Hintz has an ERA of 0.64 in 22 innings versus MEC foes. Her 15-straight innings of scoreless pitching is the longest for any CU pitcher since Sarah Herndon had a 16-inning shutout streak at the end of the 2017 season. The Melfa, Virginia native is also just seven strikeouts away from becoming the 12th pitcher in program history with 80 or more strikeouts in a single season. Hintz's 73 strikeouts this year are third in the MEC.
BALANCED ATTACK
Concord has five players with double-digit RBI this season after freshman catcher/infielder
Hannah Niten joined the club Wednesday afternoon with four RBI in two games versus Glenville State. She blasted her second home run of the season, a three-run shot, before adding a fourth RBI in game two. Junior infielder
Kendall Morgan leads CU with 18 RBI. Senior infielder
Lacie Lewis is adding 17 RBI. Senior outfielder
Alina Giles has recorded 16 RBI which is four shy of her total from last spring. And six of the 13 RBI for senior pitcher/infielder
Madison Hollis have come in conference play. Concord is one of three teams in the MEC that has five or players with 12 or more RBI—the other two are Glenville State and Frostburg State.
BACK TO WINNING WAYS
The Mountain Lions are seeking to put an end to a six-game losing streak against Davis & Elkins. Four of the losses have come by three or fewer runs. Hollis was on the wrong end of a 1-0 loss the last time D&E visited Athens in April 2025. While the doubleheader in Athens last year featured just nine total runs, the twinbill at Davis & Elkins saw 41 total runs in two games. Lewis had one of her two career multi-home run games in a 13-9 loss. Hollis and Morgan also homered in the doubleheader. Additionally, Morgan had nine hits versus the Senators last season with three being for extra bases.
TAMING THE BOBCATS
Historically, West Virginia Wesleyan has been on the front foot of the all-time series versus Concord. However, the Mountain Lions have split the last eight games with WVWC. In the last two wins over Wesleyan, CU has plated a total of 23 runs in 11-7 and 12-7 wins. After getting shutout at home last season, Concord rebounded with the four-run win. Hollis was 3-for-3 with four RBI. Senior outfielder
Morgan Gleason smacked a three-run home run. Hollis also had three hits at WVWC last spring. Morgan was 4-for-5. In the win at Wesleyan, the Mountain Lions recorded 14 hits which were all singles.
SCOUTING THE SENATORS
D&E picked up its first two conference wins of the season as it piled up 24 runs in a sweep of West Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday afternoon. While CU started the MEC season with 10 straight home games, the Senators are in the midst of a 10-game conference road trip. Audrey Higgins is batting .328 with four home runs and 13 RBI. Veteran hitter Ashlyn Zapach sports a .295 average with three home runs and a team-best 19 RBI. Sammie Jarvis has won three games in the circle.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
West Virginia Wesleyan is seeking to snap a six-game losing streak that dates to the beginning of conference play. The Bobcats were unable to keep pace with Davis & Elkins in a 15-10 loss Wednesday in game two. Reagan Winn is one of the top hitters in the MEC with a .456 average. She has three home runs and 20 RBI. Josi Fix has 30 hits on the year and sports a .366 average. Morgan Greene is 4-8 in the circle with a 3.80 ERA in 77.1 innings
