LET IT FLY
The Mountain Lions finished up the Moyer Regional Crossover Tournament over the weekend with a 6-2 win over Mansfield. The victory was powered by three home runs as senior infielder
Lacie Lewis launched two long balls in the win—her first two of the season. Junior infielder
Kendall Morgan added her first home run of the season as well. For Lewis, it was her second career multi-home run. And Lewis now has 22 career home runs which is fourth all-time in program history. She is three homers shy from tying her sister, Lauren Lewis (2014-17), for third on the home run list at CU. The three-home run game by the Mountain Lions was the first such game since last April against Wheeling.
SIZZLIN' IN THE CIRCLE
For the second time this season, sophomore pitcher/outfielder
Reghan Hintz was named MEC Pitcher of the Week after racking up 20 strikeouts in 13.2 innings of work at the Moyer Tournament. Hintz only allowed three earned runs in her work in the circle. Hintz is fourth in the MEC in strikeouts (56), and she has long surpassed her strikeout total from last season when she punched out 35 batters in 53 innings. Senior pitcher/infielder
Madison Hollis begins the weekend third in the conference in wins (seven). The next win for Hollis this season will equal her total from 2025.
SNAP THE STREAK
Concord has not beaten Charleston at home since 2019. Even though the Mountain Lions have not defeated UC in Athens in six years, CU picked off Charleston twice last season on the road behind two stellar pitching performances from Hollis and junior pitcher
Josi Ervin. Both pitchers shutout the Golden Eagles in a pair of 1-0 games last March. Hollis tossed a four-hit masterpiece as she struck out three over seven innings of work. Ervin surrendered just two hits and struck out two in her complete game at Charleston last season. At home last season, Concord dropped 12-1 and 3-1 decisions to Charleston.
RIDE THE MOMENTUM
Concord took three of four games from West Virginia State in 2025, and overall has won five of the last seven games versus the Yellow Jackets. Â The teams split a pair of games at WVSU last season with Concord winning the first, 3-2. Senior outfielder
Alina Giles aided in the victory with an RBI double. At home, the Maroon and Gray outscored West Virginia State 15-5 in a sweep. Morgan was 4-for-4 in the final game of the year versus the Yellow Jackets last season. Lewis had at least one hit in all four games against West Virginia State last season, and overall was 6-for-9.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Charleston's pitching staff is led by the duo of Addison Mass and Cali Masters. Mass is 9-2 in the circle with 96 strikeouts in 78.2 innings. She has an ERA of 1.78. Masters is not far behind with an ERA of 2.26. She has racked up 72 strikeouts in 52.2 innings. Offensively, Kayla Moran sports a. 362 average with two home runs and 22 RBI. Taylor Hodson adds 20 RBI and a team-best three home runs. The Golden Eagles have won seven straight games as they start MEC play.
SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
After winning just 14 games in 2025, West Virginia State is already halfway to last year's win total with seven victories. Kylie Price is hitting .444 with three home runs and 10 RBI. Hope Sizemore is 2-0 in the circle with an ERA of 2.05. Not WVSU pitcher has tossed more than 18 innings as the Yellow Jackets have used six different pitchers. Adrianna Green has 19 strikeouts in 18.1 innings.
