LAST AT-BAT
CU scored its second walkoff win of the season in its last game, an 8-7 win over King February 28. Senior pitcher/infielder
Madison Hollis doubled in the game-deciding run as senior outfielder
Alina Giles. The Mountain Lions also picked up a walkoff win earlier this season in a neutral-site meeting against Shepherd. Senior infielder
Lacie Lewis scored the winning run on a sacrifice in Concord's 1-0 victory over the Rams. CU had two walkoff wins a season ago, both on home runs by Lewis. With Giles scoring the winning run against King, it capped an impressive close to February for the Corona, California native. She was 6-for-13 with five runs scored, two home runs and six RBI in the final four games of February.
WE'VE GOT THE POWER
Through the first 14 games of the season, Concord is averaging more than two extra-base hits per contest—the Mountain Lions have 31 extra-base hits. Last season, CU had seven triples in 51 games. The Maroon and Gray already has six triples this season with junior infielder
Kendall Morgan (three) and Giles (two) accounting for five. Giles has four of the five home runs for the Mountain Lions. Lewis accounts for five of the team's 20 doubles. Concord is well ahead of its pace from last year on extra-base hits as the Mountain Lions had 87 extra-base hits in 51 games in 2025.
IN THE CIRCLE
Hollis' bat has been heating up as she has recorded multiple hits in two of the last three games. However, she enters the weekend third in the Mountain East Conference in wins with six. Her 49.2 innings pitched are also third in the conference. The McMinnville, Tennessee native has nearly matched her win total from a season ago when she won eight games. Meanwhile, sophomore pitcher/outfielder
Reghan Hintz goes into the final weekend of non-conference play with 36 strikeouts in 35.1 innings. Her 36 strikeouts are fourth in the conference.
FINAL TUNE-UP
Saturday and Sunday's games serve as the final weekend of non-conference play before MEC action starts March 21-22. CU does have two scheduled non-conference games remaining, against Salem in mid-April. The Mountain Lions have already surpassed win total from a season ago when they won seven games away from conference action. Since 2020, Concord has only recorded double-digit non-conference wins once—in 2024 when CU collected 14 non-MEC wins. The Maroon and Gray looks to snap losing streaks against Seton Hill and Mansfield this weekend as they are only a combined 4-15 against those two schools.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Slippery Rock has lost three straight games ahead of Saturday's contest after being swept in a doubleheader by Lock Haven—a mutual opponent for Concord—Wednesday. Maddie Cavenaugh has two home runs and has accounted for 14 of the team's 46 RBI. She is batting .444. Rachel Baker is 4-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 28 innings.
Bowie State has a team ERA of 6.42 and is allowing teams to hit .323. The biggest offensive threat for the Bulldogs is Mikayla Amos who is batting .323 with a home run and four RBI. Audrey Newell has driven in six runs.
Seton Hill is balanced offensively with seven players tallying at least three RBI through 14 games. Shelby Telegdy is only 3-3 in the circle, but sports a 1.84 ERA in 38 innings of work. The Griffins are still looking for their first home run of the season.
Mansfield is off to a 2-2 start this season after an 8-32 mark in 2025. Alex Reisinger has recorded five RBI, starting the year 4-for-10 at the plate. Emma Maurer has 16 strikeouts in just 9.1 innings in the circle. The Mountaineers sport a team ERA of just 2.42.
