PITTSBURGH – Junior
Boubacar Djigo of the Concord University men's basketball team has been tabbed to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region Second Team, the organization released Thursday morning.
Djigo, a native of Cleveland, Ohio native, averaged 16.5 points and 13.3 rebounds per game as he shot 57.9 percent from the floor. Djigo not only led the Mountain East Conference in double-doubles with 20, but was tied for first in the Atlantic Region with Pitt-Johnstown's Baden Forup, and was top five nationally in double-doubles.
He finished second in Division II in rebounding and was top 30 in field-goal percentage.
Djigo had four 20-15 games, including 24 points and 16 rebounds in the MEC Tournament versus Wheeling (March 6) and his first career 20-20 game against Virginia Union (Nov. 24). He went for 24 points and 20 rebounds versus VUU. Against the six teams that made the NCAA Tournament that CU played, Djgo averaged 17.5 points and 13.9 rebounds across 10 games.
Djigo made program history by being the second Mountain Lion to reach 350 rebounds in a single-season, joining Ron Ward and his 463 rebounds from the 1990-91 season. This winter, Djigo pulled down 373 rebounds. Additionally, he became the sixth MEC player to reach 20 double-doubles in a single season—the first since the 2018-19 season.
He becomes the third all-region player for CU in the last four seasons, joining
Kollin Tolbert (2024-25) and Daniel Rahama (2022-23).
