ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University head men's basketball coach Jayson Gee continues to add to his coaching staff with the hiring of Bryce Beavers.

Beavers begins his tenure at Concord after spending the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at Shawnee State, which begins competition in the Mountain East Conference this fall. Beavers was on the bench for a 24-win team this past winter as the Bears qualified for the NAIA National Tournament.

"Coach Beavers has a winning pedigree that will be invaluable to our program, having been part of several successful programs, during both his playing and coaching career," Gee said. "Bryce brings an abundance of positive energy to Concord, and is a high-character young man that will only move our program forward."

Prior to arriving in southeastern Ohio, Beavers spent the 2024-25 season at the University of Mobile, an NAIA school. Not only did Shawnee State make the NAIA National Tournament with Beavers on staff, but the Grove City, Ohio native has coached in three straight NAIA postseasons dating back to his time at Florida Memorial University. The 2023-24 FMU squad won 24 games and was the Sun Conference Tournament Champions.

"I want to thank President Meighen, Athletic Director Luke Duffy and Coach Jayson Gee for this opportunity," Beavers began. "I'm incredibly grateful and eager to serve as the assistant men's basketball coach at Concord University. The Concord community has been genuine and offered a warm welcoming to my family and I as we have transitioned to Athens. This position is exactly what I prayed for."

As a player at Asbury University in Kentucky, Beavers helped the Eagles go 38-18 over his final two seasons playing in the Division III ranks. He was also a state champion in high school as his Harvest Prep team won the Ohio Division III State Championship in 2019.

Beavers joins Gee's staff along with Jared Drake whose hiring was announced in the middle of May.
