Concord Ranked Ninth in Second Regional Rankings

2/25/2026 10:46:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS – The Concord University women's basketball team has been slotted ninth in the second release of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Rankings as announced Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA.

The Atlantic Regional Rankings are the official rankings that are used to determine the top eight teams that make the NCAA Division II Tournament at the end of conference tournament week. Three conference champions from the Atlantic Region—the Mountain East Conference, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference—automatically earn a bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The other three slots go to the best five at-large teams.

This week's rankings had Indiana (Pa.) in the top spot followed by Gannon, Winston-Salem State, Seton Hill and Fayetteville State to round the top five. Glenville State, Fairmont State, Edinboro, Concord and Charleston made up the back half of the rankings.

Wednesday night's results were not factored into this week's rankings. The CIAA Tournament has already begun as Winston-Salem State and Fayetteville State are vying for the automatic bid from that conference.

The Mountain Lions, at 18-9 after Wednesday's win over West Virginia State, close out the regular season with a game against fellow regional-ranked Glenville State 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
