ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's basketball team and head coach
Tesla Southcott released the program's 2026-27 schedule Monday.
CU is slated for 30 games this winter with eight coming against non-conference foes before starting the 22-game Mountain East Conference slate.
The Mountain Lions open the season at home against Ferrum—Southcott's alma mater—November 9. A two-game swing at the MEC-PSAC Challenge awaits November 13 and 14 when Concord squares off with Seton Hill and Lock Haven.
Concord remains on the road for a Mercer County showdown with Bluefield State November 21 before traveling to Winston-Salem State November 23.
Following four consecutive games against Atlantic Region foes, the Mountain Lions turn their attention towards back-to-back games in Puerto Rico November 25 and 27—the opponents and times for both games have yet to be announced.
MEC plays tips off December 2 at Wheeling.
After being on the road for nearly a month, Concord finally returns to the Carter Center December 5 for a matchup with West Liberty. A home date versus Frostburg State is up next December 9 before consecutive road games against Fairmont State (December 14) and West Virginia State (December 16).
CU wraps up the 2026 portion of its schedule with non-conference regional rival UVa.-Wise visiting Athens December 30.
Three of the first four games of 2027 will be at home as Charleston (January 2), Glenville State (January 9) and Davis & Elkins (January 13) come to the Carter Center. The only road game will be at West Virginia Wesleyan (January 6).
After the home stretch, Concord closes January with four road contests in a five-game stretch. On the schedule are trips to Point Park (January 16), Shawnee State (January 20), Frostburg State (January 27) and West Liberty (January 30). CU welcomes Fairmont State to Athens January 23.
Like January, the beginning of February will be at home. Wheeling (February 3), West Virginia Wesleyan (February 10) and West Virginia State (February 13) are featured home games with a road date at Glenville State (February 6) sandwiched in.
Concord is at Charleston (February 17) and Davis & Elkins (February 20) before back-to-back home games against Point Park (February 24) and Shawnee State (February 27) to close the regular season.
The MEC Tournament is slated for March 3-7 at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia.
SCHEDULE NOTES
-This year will be the first time since the 2018-19 season that Concord does not open conference play against Charleston or West Virginia State.
-While Concord's last two home games versus Bluefield State habr been decided by three combined points—both wins, CU has an average margin of victory of 16 points in its last two visits to BSU.
-The home team has won the last seven regular-season meetings between Concord and Fairmont State with CU's last road win against FSU coming in February 2020.
-The Mountain Lions have won 11 straight games against Davis & Elkins—the longest active winning streak against an opponent on the 2026-27 season.
