PITCHING WINS
Sophomore pitcher/outfielder Reghan Hintz and senior pitcher/infielder Madison Hollis shined in Concord's twinbill versus Belmont Abbey. Hintz fanned a career-best nine batters in her complete game performance as it marked the most strikeouts for a CU pitcher in two seasons. She limited BAC to four hits in the game and only walked two batters. Hollis continued her strong form. After tossing an eight-inning shutout against Lincoln Memorial last Monday, the McMinnville, Tennessee native held Belmont Abbey to three runs in the nightcap. Hollis improved to 2-1 on the season. Last year, she did not win her second game of the year until March 23 at West Virginia Wesleyan. Hintz earned her first win of the year in game one against Belmont Abbey.

LET'S RUN
Seven of Concord's 11 stolen bases for the season came in game two versus the Crusaders Saturday afternoon as the Maroon and Grya was only caught stealing once. One of the four runs that CU generated in one-run victory was a double steal in the first inning by senior outfielder Alina Giles and senior infielder Lacie Lewis. Junior infielder Kendall Morgan swiped two bases. Senior outfielder Morgan Gleason also came up with her 31st stolen base as she inches closer to ninth all-time in stolen bases in program history—at 35 held by her older sister Becca Gleason (2010-13). The seven stolen bases by the Mountain Lions were the most in a game in program history.

FINE FIELDING
The Mountain Lions were flawless in the field against Belmont Abbey as they went errorless in both games. Of note, 13 of the 21 outs recorded by Hollis were on the ground. And 10 of those 13 outs went to the left side of the infield where Morgan (six) and Lewis (four) combined for 10 infield assists. Lewis was asked to make a play after the ball glanced off Hollis' glove in the circle. The last time Concord had three consecutive errorless games was in April 2022. In the first four games of this season, CU had 12 errors.

REGIONAL FOES
CU plays its first four games of the season against Atlantic Region teams. This weekend will be the third straight year that the Mountain Lions face Edinboro. The last two meetings have taken place in Florida with Concord winning both, 3-2 last year and 11-9 in 2024. Junior pitcher Josi Ervin tossed a complete game as she allowed two runs on five hits last season. Seven different players accounted for a hit. In 2024, Morgan was 3-for-4 with four RBI against the Fighting Scots. Lewis finished 2-for-5 with three runs scored. Hollis added a 2-for-4 effort with two RBI. Concord faces Shepherd for the first time since 2019 when the teams ran into each other in the NCAA Tournament.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING SCOTS

Edinboro sported a record of 7-31 a season ago. Friday will be the first games of the year for EU. Adeline Maguire hit .355 last spring with a slugging percentage of .661 to go with 21 RBI. Giana Ficcaglia struck out 65 batters in 90 innings during her freshman season in the circle. Teams hit .306 versus Edinboro last year and averaged more than two steals per game on the bases.

SCOUTING THE RAMS

Brenna Collis knocked in 19 runs as she belted six home runs. Friday will also be the first time on the diamond for the Rams this season.
