Morgan Named MEC Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Junior infielder Kendall Morgan of the Concord University softball team has been voted as the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office released Monday afternoon.

Morgan, a native of King George, Virginia, batted .429 (6-for-14) in four games for the Mountain Lions during the week. She recorded two RBI, a double and two stolen bases as Concord won three of four games.

She drove in a pair of runs on against Mars Hill last Monday (Feb. 9).

In a doubleheader sweep of Belmont Abbey, Morgan collected five hits over seven at-bats. To start Saturday afternoon, Morgan went 2-for-3 with a run scored and her first double of the season. She helped CU to a 4-3 win in the nightcap by tallying three hits, two runs and two stolen bases.

In the field, Morgan rolled up 14 assists in four games.

Fairmont State's Delaney Haller was the MEC Pitcher of the Week.

Concord hosts UVa.-Wise in a home doubleheader 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
