SLIP UP
The Mountain Lions stumbled against the University of the District of Columbia in a 1-0 non-conference road loss Wednesday. The loss snapped a nine-game unbeaten streak since the loss against Charleston all the way back on September 6. Concord had control of the match with 10 shots to just three for UDC. The Mountain Lions even put eight of the efforts on net but were unable to break through. Freshman midfielder Josiah Ochoa led Concord with three shots on goal in the match.
DEFEND THE MOUNTAIN
While Concord don't have as many home contests as they did a season ago, the Maroon and Gray have made them count, posting a 4-0 record at Callaghan Stadium. In those matches, Concord are outscoring its opponents 8-2. Of those eight goals scored, they have come from seven different players on home turf.Â
SHARING THE WEALTH
CU has gotten production from so many different pieces in 2026, rather than relying on a dominant scoring effort from a singular piece. Ochoa remains the leading goalscorer with four goals with senior forward Dominique Malhomme and sophomore midfielder Koya Nakamura right behind him with three goals each. Junior forwards Lucas Costa and Stephane Shongo round out the multi-goal scorers with two goals on the year. In total, CU has 11 unique goalscorers and 17 different players with a point on the season.
SWEEP 'EM!
Concord have already defeated Salem and West Virginia Wesleyan this season and look to find repeat results on the second trip through the MEC South. Both victories came by a 2-0 margin back in the month of September. Against the Bobcats at home, it was Malhomme and senior forward Mcallan Augustin getting the in the goal column. In Bridgeport against Salem, it was Nakamura and Ochoa peppering the net. CU collected clean sheets in both games, spearheaded by a fierce back line and junior goalkeeper Iori Tanaka.
SCOUTING THE SALEM TIGERS
Despite a below .500 record, Salem have turned into a formidable foe that you cannot overlook. The Tigers have had close results with some of the top teams in the MEC and are led by Junior Lormera and Josue Villegas with three goals each.Â
SCOUTING THE WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN BOBCATS
West Virginia Wesleyan is winless in 2026 and have been on the wrong side of things as of late. The Bobcats have dropped each of their previous two matches by a combined 11 goals and didn't score in either contest. On the season, it's Axel Chilet and Jake Hotka leading WVWC with two goals a piece.
