CLIMBING THE RANKS
In Concord's 2-1 loss to West Virginia State, junior defender Ella Rowell recorded her fourth assist of the season as she tallied an assist on the goal scored by freshman forward Ela Marit Del Orbe. Rowell moved into a tie for second in the MEC in assists. Sophomore midfielder Daisy Cook leads Concord and the MEC with five assists this year. As a team, the Mountain Lions are third in the conference in assists (18) as Marit Del Orbe (three) and sophomore defender Molly Watters (second) also have multiple assists on the year.

GET THE SHOTS OFF
In home games with Glenville and West Virginia Wesleyan earlier this season, CU outshot both teams. Concord got off 26 shots versus WVWC which was the second-most shots in a game this season. Watters notched five shots with four goal. Cook and junior forward Ailsa Swinburne each had three shots on goal. Against Glenville State, the Mountain Lions only held a 9-8 edge in shots. Rowell and Swinburne led the Mountain Lion offense with two shots each. Concord continues to be among the top teams in the MEC in shots (220) and shots on goal (115) as it ranks second in both.

ROAD REBOUND
The Mountain Lions lost a pair of home games to WVWC and GSU earlier this season with both games being a final of 1-0. However, Concord has never lost at Glenville State, owning an all-time record of 7-0 at Morris Stadium. Rowell assisted on one of Concord's goals last year on the road while the other was an own goal. CU held the Pioneers to two shots on their home field. The Maroon and Gray has had similar success at West Virginia Wesleyan as of late, going 4-0-1 in their last five trips to Buckhannon. In Concord's 2-1 win last October at WVWC, all three goals were scored in the first 25 minutes. Junior midfielder Stephanie Tovar put a goal in in the seventh minute while the eventual game-winning goal came from senior defender Katie Garratt in the 25th minute.

HOW IT'S SHAPING UP
Heading into the final two weeks of MEC play, Concord is four points out of a playoff spot in the MEC South Division, trailing Charleston 15-11 in points. With two positive results, CU would take a big leap in hoping to secure an MEC Tournament berth for the 10th straight year. Charleston faces Shawnee State Sunday before taking on MEC-South leading Glenville State Wednesday. West Virginia Wesleyan is just eight points clear of Concord as it faces a tough road test at West Virginia State Sunday before welcoming the Mountain Lions midweek.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Glenville State starts the weekend with a two-point lead in the MEC South over West Virginia State, 24-22. The Pioneers' success has come from a stingy defense that has only allowed 17 goals, fourth fewest in the conference. GSU only has a +1 goal differential on the year. The Glenville State offense is paced by Valentina Quiroz and Solares Solano who have both scored six goals this season. GSU has won three straight games ahead of Sunday's clash with Concord.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
West Virginia Wesleyan has won back-to-back games, including a 2-0 home win over Charleston Wednesday. Mia Rodriguez has a team-best five goals, but eight different players have accounted for WVWC's 16 goals this fall. Earlier this season, Bobcats' goalkeeper Reyna Dalton stopped 14 shots at Concord to help her team preserve a 1-0 win. Dalton has a total of 70 saves on the year and a goals-against average of 1.01.
