ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team has announced an exhibition against Division I University of Akron, head coach
Todd May released Tuesday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions will travel to northeast Ohio to face the Zips on December 29. The game is nestled between two regular-season games for Concord as it faces Fairmont State December 20 and Salem January 3.
Akron has won the Mid-American Conference Tournament three of the last four years, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. This past winter, UA went was 28-7 and went 17-1 in conference play before bowing out in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Concord will be facing Akron in an exhibition for the third time in program history, most recently meeting in December 2022.
The Mountain Lions start the regular season November 14 at Indiana (Pa.).
