ATHENS, W.Va. – Junior outside hitters
Chloe Thompson and
Meg Williams of the Concord University volleyball team have been selected to the Concord Classic All-Tournament Team with the conclusion of the tournament Saturday evening.
Over four matches, Thompson averaged 2.77 kills while hitting .216. She added 28 digs and 10 blocks over 13 sets of play as Concord went 3-1 at home this weekend, defeating Kentucky State, Bluefield State and Winston-Salem State. Thompson's best outing came Saturday night as she finished with 13 kills, a .393 hitting percentage, four digs and three blocks versus Rollins. Thompson just missed a double-double of eight kills and 17 digs against Bluefield State.
Meanwhile, Williams nearly had three double-doubles herself. She went for 10 kills and eight digs versus BSU, notched 10 kills and nine digs against Winston-Salem State and collected eight kills and 10 digs against Rollins. For the weekend, Williams averaged 2.53 kills per set and 2.77 digs per set.
At 10-1, Concord begins Mountain East Conference play Friday, September 26 at home versus Frostburg State.
