BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Junior first baseman Matthew DiSanti of the Concord University baseball team has been named Mountain East Conference Co-Player of the Week alongside Frostburg State's Jackson Schalick, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

It is the first Player of the Week nod for DiSanti in his career after hitting .526 (10-for-19) on the week with four doubles and a home run while driving in three runs.

The Wilmington, N.C. native began his week with a 3-for-4 performance against UVa.-Wise last Tuesday where he roped a double and clobbered his first home run of the season in a 13-8 win. Then, he was 2-for-4 in back-to-back outings against Point Park, picking up a double and scoring one run in game one. On Sunday against Salem, DiSanti ended the doubleheader with another three-hit performance with all three hits being doubles. His three-double day is tied for the most in a single game in the MEC this season, as well as tied for the most in a single-game in program history for a seven-inning game.

On the year, DiSanti is batting a team-best .429, ranking third in the league along with eight doubles, one homer, and seven RBI. Additionally, he is tied for the conference lead in total hits (33) and fourth in on-base percentage (.522).

Frostburg State's Patrick Bauer was this week's MEC Pitcher of the Week.

CU takes on nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne Tuesday for a nine-inning game starting at 5:00 p.m.
