DOUBLE TROUBLE
Over the last five games, Concord has smacked 14 of its 43 doubles on the season. The two-bag parade was led by junior infielder
Matthew DiSanti as he collected four doubles over the last week, including three at Salem in game two Sunday afternoon. The Wilmington, North Carolina native tied the seven-inning, single-game program record for doubles Sunday afternoon. The six-player club also includes senior outfielder
Demetri Jamison who tallied three doubles last April versus Davis & Elkins. DiSanti now has eight doubles on the year which ranks in a tie for fifth in the Mountain East Conference. Junior outfielder
Korbin Bostic has at least one double in six of the last eight games, giving him 10 doubles on the year which is third in the conference.
KEEP COMING DOWN
Concord's pitching staff did not allow an earned run over 14 innings Sunday at Salem, and heading into Tuesday CU's staff ERA is 6.86 which is the lowest it has been this spring. Sophomore pitcher
Jake Robinson's scoreless streak of 14.1 innings dating back to the Millersville series (March 7-8) has greatly contributed to the Mountain Lions seeing the drop in ERA. Graduate pitcher
Coby Ingle has only allowed six earned runs over his last 15.2 innings on the mound. Junior pitchers
Kerry Collins and
Logan Darrow have been stellar out of Concord's bullpen this year. Collins has an ERA of 3.60 in 15 innings while Darrow has only giving up four runs in his last 10 innings of action. Freshman pitcher
Broc Taylor was part of CU's pitching on Sunday that did not allow an earned run as he has only given up one earned run in his first 3.1 innings of collegiate pitching.
THE BEST OF THE BEST
The Mountain Lions take on their four nationally-ranked opponent of the season Tuesday evening in Hickory, North Carolina. CU is 2-5 against teams in the top 25 this season. However, the Maroon and Gray won their two latest games against nationally-ranked foes, a doubleheader sweep of Millersville March 8. The four ranked teams that Concord has already played this season match the number of top 25 opponents from the previous three seasons combined. DiSanti is batting .478 (11-for-23) against nationally-ranked teams this season. Junior catcher
Austin Hear sports a .444 average (8-for-18) with three extra-base hits, and junior outfielder
Dawson Gragg has 10 hits in 23 at-bats (.434 average) versus top 25 teams. Sophomore infielder
Nick DiSanti has seven of his 19 RBI have been against Ashland, East Stroudsburg and Millersville.
