ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team has had four players placed on the College Sports' Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District list, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

The honorees are junior libero Allie Davis, junior setter Paige Richmond, sophomore setter Haley Sweeney and junior outside hitter Meg Williams. Davis, Richmond and Williams earn CSC Academic All-District for the second time in their careers.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have played in 90 percent of team's matches or started in 66 percent.
Davis, a native of Jonesborough, Tennessee, carries a 3.92 GPA through four semesters as a health science major. She has been on the Concord's Dean's List all four semesters of college thus far. She appeared on the All-Mountain East Conference Academic Team in both the fall of 2023 and 2024. Davis has established herself as one of the best libero's in the MEC as she has been voted to the All-MEC Second Team each of the last two years in helping lead CU to back-to-back MEC Tournament Semifinal appearances. She is up over 1,500 career digs in her career (1,628) which ranks fifth all-time at Concord.

Richmond is also climbing her way up the Concord record books as a three-year starting setter. The Martinsburg, West Virginia native has 1,893 assists which are fifth all-time. Richmond has a 3.78 GPA as a business administration major. She has been on the All-MEC Academic Team twice, and like Davis has been on the Concord's Dean's List in all four semesters of college. Richmond ranked ninth in the MEC in assists per set (5.62) this past fall.

Sweeney, a native of Shady Spring, West Virginia, lands CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career. She has a 4.0 GPA in the Concord nursing program. After playing sparingly as a freshman, Sweeney became Concord's number two setter behind Richmond this past fall. She averaged 4.36 assists per set. Sweeney's career high in assists came versus Wheeling when she had 28 (Oct. 24), and she added back-to-back 22-assist matches in the MEC Tournament versus West Liberty (Nov. 20) and Charleston (Nov. 21).

A now two-time All-MEC First Team performer, Williams carries a 3.80 GPA as an elementary education major. Williams continued her impressive career by finishing eighth in the MEC in kills per set (3.03) during her junior season. Williams tallied 14 double-doubles this fall and also earned All-MEC Tournament Team honors. In the classroom, the Shady Spring, West Virginia native has been on the All-MEC Academic Team two times and has appeared on the Concord's Dean's List four times. Additionally, she went over 1,000 kills in her career—the seventh player in program history to do so.

The Mountain Lions went 21-9 this fall, the first 20-win season since 2002.
