Boubacar Djigo of the Concord University men's basketball team has been tabbed the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Djigo, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is this week's conference player of the week after putting together the second-recorded 20-20 game in the history of Concord men's basketball last Monday. In CU's 65-58 loss to Virginia Union, Djigo finished with 24 points and 20 rebounds. He shot 11-for-15 from the field and threw in a pair of blocked shots.
Djigo pulled down 16 of his 20 rebounds in the second half and scored 16 of his 24 points after halftime in the non-conference contest versus the Panthers.
The other 20-20 game in program history came during the 2014-15 season when Jametrius Wade went for 24 points and 20 rebounds at West Virginia State January 17, 2015. Djigo's 20-20 was the 11
th 20-20 game in the history of the MEC.
Concord begins conference play at West Virginia State 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
