BACK IN 2002
Though the Mountain Lions dropped their final regular season match of the year at Glenville State Friday night, Concord picked up its 20th season of the year in a sweep of Davis & Elkins inside the Carter Center November 11. It was the first 20-win campaign for the Maroon and Gray since the 2002 season. The 20 wins comes just three years after CU tallied seven wins and just one in conference play. Concord enters the MEC Tournament as one of three teams in the league with 20 wins. Fairmont State has 23 wins while Charleston also has 20 wins. The Maroon and Gray's 37 wins over the last two seasons are the most in a two-year span since 2001 and 2002 when Concord amassed 41 wins.

FINISH ON A HIGH NOTE
In the contest at Glenville State, junior outside hitter Chloe Thompson recorded a season-best 16 kills while hitting .300 in the match. Junior libero Allie Davis notched her second-highest dig output of the season with 26 digs at GSU. Davis' 42 digs in the final two matches of the season led to her being named the MEC Defensive Player of the Week for a third time this year, the only player in the conference to earn the distinction three times. Freshman middle hitter Addison Adkins supplemented the offense with 13 kills against the Pioneers which was one shy of her career high.

GOING FOR A SWEEP
CU looks to advance to the MEC Semifinals for a second straight year, but will need to sweep the season series from West Liberty after the Mountain Lions were victorious in four sets at home versus WLU October 25. Concord won the first two sets over the Hilltoppers in October, and rebounded after a tough third set. Concord used a balanced attack to top West Liberty. Sophomore right side Maddie Stull paced the offense with 15 kills and a .375 hitting percentage. Thompson (14) and junior outside hitter Meg Williams (13) both finished with double-digit kills with junior middle hitter Jasmine Anderson making it fourth player in double-figure kills with 10. The Mountain Lions were outhit in the match, .266-.226, but finished with 11 more kills than the Hilltoppers.

CONCORD vs. WEST LIBERTY: THE TRILOGY
Thursday marks the third straight season that Concord and West Liberty find each other in the MEC Quarterfinals. The Hilltoppers won the 2023 tournament meeting in four sets. The Mountain Lions exacted revenge last season with a thrilling five-set victory in which CU won the odd-numbered set. Williams has been together great career numbers versus WLU. She has recorded four straight double-doubles with 68 kills and 68 digs in the last four matches against West Liberty. In last year's MEC Tournament contest, Williams finished with 24 kills and 19 digs. Thompson is averaging 12.7 kills per match in the last four versus WLU. And Davis has rolled up 108 career digs in five matches versus West Liberty, an average of 5.14 per set.

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
West Liberty did not clinch its first MEC North Division crown until the final day of the regular season when it knocked off Wheeling for a second time this season. The Hilltoppers are led by Ashley Cudnik who averages 3.61 kills per set and hits .224. Cudnik had 25 kills in Athens earlier this season, and collected 17 kills versus Concord in last year's MEC Tournament while Kyia White was a factor with 15 kills. WLU has one of the best setters in the conference in Dakoda Keni who averages better than eight assists per set. Since dropping the match at CU in late October, the Hilltoppers are 5-1 with the lone loss being in five sets at Fairmont State.
