ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team hit over .400 and ten different players had a kill as Concord rolled to a straight-sets win over Davis & Elkins Tuesday night at the Carter Center in a Mountain East Conference game.
The Mountain Lions (20-7, 8-6 MEC) collect their first 20-win season since the 2002 season. CU won Tuesday night 25-10, 25-10, 25-9.
Junior outside hitter
Meg Williams led all players with 13 kills as she nearly equaled Davis & Elkins (0-25, 0-14 MEC) for the match as the Senators finished 17 kills. Williams .444 in the contest. Sophomore right side
Maddie Stull came up with seven kills and hit .700 in 10 attempts. Both junior middle hitter

Chloe Thompson had four kills.
Concord jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the match on the strength of a 12-2 run in the first set. Already up 7-4, the Mountain Lions used a pair of kills from freshman middle hitter
Addison Adkins to get out to a sizeable lead of 19-6.
In the second set, CU was up 6-3 and peeled off another large run that saw the margin go to 16-5 on a service ace by Adkins. Stull and Williams helped Concord close the set on a 6-0 run. Junior right side hitter
Meagan Poticher was responsible for a pair of kills in the set.
The Maroon and Gray scored 15 of the first 16 points in the third set as the surge carried over the from the second game. Williams was responsible for four of the first eight points with three kills and an assisted block with Adkins. Stull tore off three straight kills to cap the lengthy run.
Along with the powerful offense, CU was steady on defense as it held Davis & Elkins to -.047 hitting. Junior libero
Allie Davis piled up 16 digs while Thompson chipped in 10. Adkins collected six blocks and Stull chipped in four.
The .405 hitting percentage for Concord was its highest since September 2018 at Bluefield State.
Already with an MEC Tournament spot well-secured, the Mountain Lions finish the regular season at Glenville State 7:00 p.m. Friday.
