FROSTBURG, Md. – The Concord University women's soccer team won their third straight game with a 3-2 victory at Frostburg State Saturday evening in a Mountain East Conference game at Bobcat Stadium.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game, Concord (6-3-2, 5-1-2 MEC) scored three straight goals to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half. But, CU had to hold off a late Frostburg State (6-4-1, 4-3-1 MEC) charge to secure the Maroon and Gray's first victory over FSU in the last four tries.
In the 33
rd minute, sophomore midfielder
Tiana Campbell recorded her sixth goal of the season as she brought down an errant clearance by the Bobcats, and scored her first goal of the game after the shot hit the inside of the left post.
The game remained tied 1-1 at halftime, but Concord wasted little time going up a goal after halftime with a 48
th-minute tally.
Frostburg State gave the ball away near the top of the 18-yard box, and right onto the foot of senior forward
Caitlin Webster. After dribblign down the end line, Webster dished off to freshman midfielder
Daisy Cook who poked in her second goal of the season.
Campbell's second goal came on a penalty kick in the 54
th minute as she was taken down on the right side of the penalty area before converting her second penalty of the season.
The Bobcats trimmed the lead in half in the 68
th minute, and the Mountain Lions were forced to play down a player for the final 3:36 of the game. Frostburg State was only able to muster one shot with the player advantage, a strike from distance with three seconds left that was easily covered up by sophomore goalkeeper
Maddie Loughborough.
Both teams finished with 10 shots in the game. CU had one more shot on goal (5-4). FSU took all six corner kicks in the game.

Stephanie Tovar accounted for six shots—three each.
Loughborough made two saves.
Concord continues its MEC North road trip 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Point Park.
