PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Concord University women's soccer team fell to Point Park 2-1 on the road Wednesday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at Highmark Stadium.

Early in the first half, Point Park (6-4-2, 5-3-1) scored a goal in the 12th minute on what ended up being the Pioneers' only shot of the first half.

Concord (6-4-2, 5-2-2 MEC) kept chipping away at the Pioneer defense and finally broke through in the 38th minute.

Taryn Kelly who tucked it home to equalize the match.

At the break, the Mountain Lions led with nine shots to one with seven of CU's chances landing on target. Sophomore midfielder
Tiana Campbell led the way with six shots, four of which were on goal.

In the second half, it was the Pioneers breaking away on a counter attack as PPU retook the lead with another strike from distance in the 57th minute of play.

Concord continued applying heavy pressure trying to leave Pittsburgh with at least a point as they had controlled the pace of play throughout the match.

Despite the second half chances, Concord couldn't find another goal and dropped the match 2-1.

As a team, CU outshot PPU 13-6 and led 8-3 in shots on goal. The Mountain Lions also had five corners to Point Park's one. Campbell led the team with six shots and sophomore goalkeeper
Maddie Loughborough made one save in the contest.

Concord returns home to Callaghan Stadium for an MEC fixture against the West Liberty Hilltoppers this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
