ATHENS, W.Va. – First-year Concord University head baseball coach Drew Bailey has released the program's 2025 schedule, he announced Friday.
The start of the campaign is just a little over a month away as Concord opens the year at Mars Hill in western North Carolina February 8-9. The first home series of the year is the following weekend when the Mountain Lions host Pitt-Johnstown for a three-game set February 15-16.
CU concludes the month of February with a three-game road series at Ashland February 22-23 before hosting Emory & Henry February 25.
A significant regional challenge awaits the Mountain Lions March 7-8 at Anderson Field when Millersville comes to Athens. The Millersville series also serves as a final tune-up before Mountain East Conference action ramps up March 15.
MEC action includes 30 games with 10 games coming against the north division and 20 games versus the south division. All MEC South series are two-day, four-game sets while the north division games are single-day doubleheaders.
Defending MEC North Division Champion Frostburg State visits Concord before the Maroon and Gray welcomes Fairmont State March 16.
CU will be action at non-conference foe Salem March 22 before heading to Point Park March 23.
MEC North Division games conclude March 29 and March 30 at Anderson Field versus Wheeling and West Liberty.
MEC South Division games begin April 5-6 with Davis & Elkins coming to Athens. The Mountain Lions embark on a season-long nine-game road with conference games at West Virginia Wesleyan (April 12-13) and West Virginia State (April 18-19). A non-conference game at Emory & Henry (April 15) is also wedged in.
CU plays host Charleston April 26-27. The final conference series is a split series at Glenville State May 2 before GSU travels to Concord May 4.
SCHEDULE NOTES
-Two of the three all-time meetings between Concord and Millersville have come in the NCAA Tournament (2011, 2013). The latest game was in 2019 at Glenville State.
-Seven of the last nine games between Concord and Fairmont State have been decided by three runs or less. CU is 4-3 in such games.
-The Mountain Lions are 15-1 both Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan in their last 16 contests against each school.
-After playing 29 home games last season, going 21-8, CU is slated to play 26 home games in 2025.
