FAMILIAR FOES
This weekend marks the third time in as many seasons that Concord plays Gannon in its first two games of the year. In 2022, senior midfielder Leah Fleming provided the game-winning goal in the 85th minute to propel the Mountain Lions to a home win over Gannon, 3-2. After a slow start to last year's contest, Gannon tied the game in the 67th minute at 1-1 before GU took a 2-1 lead in the 83rd minute. However, just 45 seconds after the second Gannon goal, senior forward Sydney Tucker tallied one of her team-best 12 goals on the season as the teams settled for a 2-2 draw. Graduate defender Olivia Bekeleski and senior forward Nora Voisey each had assists in the 2023 meeting.

HERE WE GO AGAIN
Concord and Kutztown play each for the third time in the last 20 games after CU and the Bears played last season at Gannon before squaring off in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023. Even though KU won both times—and CU is seeking its first-ever win against Kutztown in six tries—the Mountain Lions led in both games. Sophomore midfielder Katie Garratt gave Concord a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute of the regular season meeting before goals in the 61st and 81st minutes lifted the Bears to a 2-1 victory. In the NCAA Tournament, Fleming got Concord off to a fast start with a goal in the third minute. But, Kutztown responded with three unanswered goals in the first half to win 3-2. Tucker had a goal in the 63rd minute as Concord's comeback attempt fell short.

NOT SHYING AWAY
Though Concord lost seven games last season, the Mountain Lions saw six of their losses come to teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament. The tough schedule lifted CU to the NCAA Tournament despite having its most losses since the 2017 season when it finished 10-8-1. Of the four teams the Mountain Lions played that made the national tournament, three won at least one game—Charleston, Gannon and Kutztown—with Gannon advancing to the national quarterfinals.

However, the second and third scorers from a season ago return to the lineup for reigning PSAC East Coach of the Year Erik Burstein, in Katelyn Economopoulos (eight goals, five assists) and Carline McDonald (six goals, 10 assists). Cassidy Howes and Morgan O'Donnell will step in goal for the now-graduated Cassandra Baker.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Gannon made its deepest run in program history in the NCAA Tournament as it was one step short of a national semifinal appearance, falling 1-0 to Adelphi in the quarterfinals. GU took out Mercyhurst, Charleston and West Chester to win the Atlantic Region. Longtime head coach Colin Peterson welcomes back his top two scorers from last season as Grace Emanuel and Brooklyn Respecki combined for 27 goals as freshmen. Both were All-Atlantic Region players last season with Respecki being the Atlantic Regional Player of the Year.
