ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team begins its first home stand of the season when it hosts Davis & Elkins 1:00 p.m. Sunday and Charleston 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in a pair of Mountain East Conference games at Callaghan Stadium.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
It has been 1,810 days since Concord has played a home game in Athens, playing home games in Beckley since October 2019. CU's last home game was October 9, 2019, a 3-0 win over Charleston at Anderson Field. The young Mountain Lions had a couple firsts in their two most recent games. Freshman midfielder Tiana Campbell netted two goals in her first conference game at West Virginia Wesleyan Sunday, leading to her being named MEC Offensive Player of the Week. Since the start of the 2022 season, Campbell is the 12^th different player to have a two-goal game in the Maroon and Gray. Freshman goalkeeper Maddie Loughborough recorded her first career shutout at West Virginia State, a 0-0 tie Wednesday.

KEEP THE SUCCESS GOING
Since a 2-1 home loss to Davis & Elkins in September 2022, Concord has outscored the Senators 15-4 in three straight wins. Junior forward Caitlin Webster scored in each win last season versus the Senators. Senior forward Nora Voisey had five total points in two games in 2023, including three assists in the 6-0 home win. Voisey and senior defender Leah Fleming tied the single-game program record with three assists apiece in the 6-0 victory. The Mountain Lions are the 8-1 versus Davis & Elkins since the Senators joined the league prior to the 2019 season. Senior forward Sydney Tucker scored in last year's home win over D&E.

REVERSE THE TREND
Concord owns a 20-15-3 series advantage versus Charleston, but has lost the last four meetings versus Charleston dating back to the 2022 regular season. The most recent meeting between the two schools was a 3-0 Charleston win last October. However, the game was a defensive struggle in terms of total shots with just 13 combined. Voisey lined up a team-high three shots. Sophomore midfielder Katie Garratt took three of CU's nine shots at Charleston last fall. Both games versus the Golden Eagles last year featured Charleston being ranked in the top 20 nationally. Fleming scored in Concord's 1-0 road victory at Charleston in September 2022.

Two of the three losses for Davis & Elkins have been a 1-0 score line, including Wednesday's one-goal loss at Glenville State. D&E opened the season with a 1-0 loss to Pitt-Johnstown. Manoela Piraja has scored the lone goal for the Senators this fall. Monica Birkelund has started three of the four games in net.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Charleston has won both of its conference games, defeating Davis & Elkins 2-0 Sunday and downing West Virginia Wesleyan 3-2 Wednesday night. UC and Concord have mutual non-conference opponents in Gannon and Kutztown. Juliette Lucas (four) and Lina Jaime (two) have combined for all six Golden Eagle goals. Jordan Maynard, a 34-game starter in goal over her career, has saved 17 shots this season and has a save percentage of .708 this year.
