FROSTBURG, Md. – The Concord University women's track & field team finished ninth at the Mountain East Conference Championships that concluded Tuesday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.
The Mountain Lions finished with 25 points. Charleston was the team champion by 41 points over West Virginia Wesleyan (173-132).
The top finisher on the day for CU was the 4x100-meter relay squad of freshman
Nadiyah Abdussalaam, sophomore

Marin Parker and freshman
Izzy Williams as they clocked 49.89 seconds to place sixth.
Freshman
Hayley Collins, Holmes, Parker and Williams finished eighth in the 4x400-meter relay as they combined for a showing of 4:24.01.
Graduate student
Emily Wallace picked up a pair of points in the 800-meter run, finishing seventh in 2:29.36. Sophomore
Emma Jenkins and Wallace were just outside of the scoring zone in the 1,500-meter run. Jenkins placed ninth by crossing in 5:10.00. Wallace finished 10
th with a time of 5:12.61.
Sophomore
Katy Walkup clocked 19:42.29 in the 5,000-meter run to place 12
th. Wallace was 15
th as she finished in 21:00.54.
West Virginia Wesleyan's Samantha Cash was the MEC Championships MVP as well as the MEC Field Athlete of the Year. Charleston's Julie LaFare was voted the MEC Track Athlete of the Year. Ky'Ara Ross was the MEC Freshman of the Year. West Virginia Wesleyan head coach Kelsey Chambers rounded out the year-end award by being named MEC Coach of the Year.
