REBOUND SEASON
After missing the MEC Tournament in 2022 and 2023, head coach
Alyssa Morris returns her alma mater to the postseason for the first time in her three-year head coaching tenure at CU. Junior utility
Kylee Stacy helped pace the Mountain Lions during the regular season with a .434 batting average. Stacy increased her batting average to .467 in 30 conference games. The middle of Concord's order, junior infielder
Courtney Raines—batting third—and sophomore pitcher/infielder
Madison Hollis—in the cleanup spot—are both batting better than .340 entering the MEC Tournament. Raines leads MEC in doubles this season (16) and is seventh in RBI (39). Hollis is top 10 in the conference in both hits (54) and doubles (12). Senior pitcher
Nancy-Jo Roberts' 13 wins are the most for a Concord hurler since 2019. She finished the year with an ERA of 3.10 over 122 innings.
RECORD WATCH
Stacy enters the MEC Tournament with 75 hits. Her 75 hits are the third most in a single season at Concord. The Green Cove Springs, Florida native has already shattered the single-season stolen base record with 26 steals. She needs six hits to break the single-season hits record at CU. Raines is vying to become one of 11 players in program history with 40 or more RBI in a season. Her 16 doubles are already tied for fourth in a single season at Concord. Roberts is seeking to be the first Mountain Lion pitcher with 14 or more wins in a season since 2019, and only three CU pitchers have 14 or more wins in a season—Cartney Schoolcraft (18) in 2019, Allie Reid (17) in 2014 and Lacey McDougall (14) in 2015.
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
CU enters the week having dropped five straight games to Fairmont State. However, the regular season matchups this spring were both decided by one run, 2-1 and 4-3. Hollis accounted for the lone CU run in the first contest as she belted one of her three home runs of the spring. Raines was responsible for two hits, both doubles, and two RBI in the 4-3 defeat. Meanwhile, junior outfielder
Kayla McCraw smacked a home run in the contest—all three career home runs for McCraw have come since the April 14 doubleheader. Freshman pitcher
Josi Ervin fired six innings versus the Fighting Falcons as she only allowed three hits and one run in game two. Hollis pitched a complete game, giving up five hits and two runs. The winner of Wednesday's game plays the winner of the Glenville State-Notre Dame contest 12:00 p.m. Thursday. The loser faces the loser of the same game 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
