MARIETTA, Ohio – The Concord University women's track & field team won the Marietta First Glimpse Saturday afternoon at the Dyson Baudo Center.
The Mountain Lions collected 132 points as they were the only team to reach the century mark in scoring.
Five event victories highlighted the day for CU.
In the high jump, freshman
Cierra Parker cleared 1.50 meters for the win. Junior
Lilly Jackson went over 1.45 meters to place second and freshman
Kendall Lilly made it a clean sweep for the top three places by clearing 1.40 meters.
Sophomore
Meagan Poticher was victorious in the shot put as she tossed 8.92 meters. Freshman
Gracie McAlister marked 8.63 meters for third while sophomore
Abby Humphrey was fourth with a throw of 8.60 meters.
Concord had another 1-3-4 finish in the 400-meter dash. Freshman
Jenna Webb clocked 1:06.47 in her win. Fellow freshman
Megan Canterbury sprinted 1:09.45, good enough for third, and senior
Alexis Anzevino ran 1:10.12 in fourth.
Freshman
Cassidy Hammonds won the long jump with a mark of 5.28 meters while Jackson placed fourth with a leap of 4.88 meters.
The final event victory for the Mountain Lions was in the 4x400-meter relay as Canterbury, Hammonds, Parker and Webb combined to run 4:37.68.
Hammonds concluded her impressive day with a third-place showing in the 55-meter dash as she came down the straightaway in 7.53 seconds.
Junior
Emma Londeree finished fourth in the mile with a time of 6:20.83.
Concord will be off from action until January 11 when it travels to the Marshall Classic in Huntington, West Virginia.
