Results
MARIETTA, Ohio – The Concord University men's track & field team were the runners-up of the Marietta First Glimpse Saturday inside the Dyson Baudo Center.
CU scored 134 points as only host Marietta College was better with 150 points.
Concord picked up two event victories.
Freshman
Max Madsen triple jumped 13.36 meters to win his event. Meanwhile on the track, sophomore
Braden Ward clocked 4:25.64 to win the mile. Also in the mile, sophomore
Andrew Tickle was the runner-up (4:43.66) while freshman
Brandon Canaday finished third in 4:45.38.
Madsen was the runner-up in the long jump as he marked 6.80 meters. Fellow freshman
Luke Davis leaped 6.31 meters to finish fourth.
In the sprints, freshman
Landon Meredith was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.67 seconds. Davis was right behind in third with a time of 24.11 seconds. Freshman
Tobi Adebulu sprinted 9.36 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles to place second.
And in the 55-meter dash, Madsen (6.82 seconds) and Meredith (6.84 seconds) were third and fourth, respectively.
Sophomore
Shawn Bennett was third in the shot put (10.42 meters).
In other field event action, Davis cleared 1.75 meters to place third in the high jump while sophomore
AJ Skeens went over 1.65 meters to finish fourth.
Adebulu placed fourth in the 400-meters, stopping the clock at 57.66 seconds.
The final standout finishers for the Mountain Lions came in the 3,000-meter run. Junior
Bryce Legg was third (10:11.65). Sophomore
Wes Holcomb finished fourth (10:18.01) and senior
Luke Ruhnke placed fifth (11:56.56).
NOTE: On Friday evening, Ward (15:06.13), junior
Alex Irvin (15:50.61) and Skeens (15:57.16) all ran the 5,000-meters at Grand Valley State. Senior
Ethan Board was in the 800-meter run at GVSU, running 1:56.36.
CU returns to the oval January 11 at the Marshall Classic.
