ATHENS, W.Va. – During the holiday season, the Concord University Sports Information Department will be unveiling the top moments, games and storylines from the past year in Concord Athletics in countdown form.

From the top games, All-American recognition, NCAA Tournament appearances and more we hope you enjoy a look back at Concord Athletics over the last 365 days.

Two All-Americans make up the third-best storyline of 2024 for Concord Athletics.

Already with an All-American honor under his belt from 2022, baseball's Zack Saryeldin became the fourth multi-time All-American in program history in 2024. Saryeldin was named an Honorable Mention All-American from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA).

Though injuries did not allow Saryeldin to finish the 2024 season, the Weston, Florida native managed to hit a team-best .426 over 36 games. Saryeldin's on-base + slugging percentage (OPS) was an eye-popping 1.312. He belted 11 home runs, trailing only Chris Satcher for the team lead, and drove in 49 runs.

Saryeldin finished top 15 in Division II in slugging percentage (.795), and his .517 on-base percentage was just outside the top 25 in the country.

With two All-American seasons included, Saryeldin concluded his career top 10 in program history in hits (241/sixth), batting average (.389/sixth), doubles (59/second), runs (188/tied for sixth), home runs (24/ninth), walks (85/ninth) and RBI (149/10th).

Sydney Tucker became the seventh All-American for the women's soccer program in December after leading earning Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Atlantic Regional Player of the Year from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA). Tucker earned a Third Team All-American nod from the D2CCA.

Tucker tied for sixth in goals scored in Division II in 2024 (16) and was tied for 11th in points in the nation (36). The Raleigh, North Carolina native wrapped up her career tied for ninth in career goals scored at CU with 28.

Remarkably, Tucker earned All-American in 2024 after playing in a total of three games in her first two years at Concord. She had a breakout season in 2023 by scoring a team-best 12 goals that spring boarded her for the All-American season this fall.
