LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Concord University men's cross country team placed fourth at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship Saturday morning at the Long Branch Cross Country Course.
Concord scored 188 points. Davis & Elkins was the regional champion with 40 points. Shippensburg (45) and Charleston (81) also advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship with Saturday's results. CU edged out Slippery Rock for fourth by three points.
Senior
Logan Zuchelli was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions as he earned All-Atlantic Region for the fourth straight season. Zuchelli placed 24
th—the top 25 are named all-region. Zuchelli navigated the 10,000-meter course in 31:12.
Sophomore
Braden Ward just missed an all-region accolade as he placed 27
th in a showing of 31:21. The next runner through for CU was sophomore
Bramley Childress who ran 31:58 to place 44
th. Senior
Ethan Board just missed dipping under 32 minutes as he stopped the timer at 32:03 for 46
th.
The final scorer for the Mountain Lions was junior
Alex Irvin who finished 58
th in a time of 32:22. Sophomores
Andrew Tickle (33:01) and
AJ Skeens (33:24) completed the Concord field.
Saturday wrapped up the season for Concord.
