SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Senior forward Sydney Tucker of the Concord University women's soccer team has been selected as the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Atlantic Region Player of the Year, the organization announced Tuesday.

Meanwhile, senior defender Leah Fleming and freshman midfielder Marika Svensson were named to the D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team in Tuesday's release.

Tucker, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, becomes Concord's third Atlantic Regional Player of the Year since 2019, joining former teammates Leah Foster (2019) and Yasmin Mosby (2021) to win the award. This fall, she scored 16 goals and tallied four assists. Despite only playing one postseason game, Tucker is tied for sixth in Division II in goals scored this year. Her 36 points are tied for 11th in the country. Prior to this season, Tucker had only scored 12 goals in her career which all came last season. Tucker was one of two players in Division II to record three hat tricks during the year as she registered three-goal games versus Salem, West Liberty and Wheeling. With her Atlantic Region Player of the Year honor, Tucker will be up for All-American status as well as D2CCA National Player of the Year consideration.

Fleming earns her first all-region nod after a career season. The Arbroath, Scotland native netted eight goals and added five assists during the season. She finished third on the team with 21 points and was fourth in goals scored from her left back spot on the pitch. Fleming was the highest-scoring defender in the Mountain East Conference. And she finished her career by scoring goals in four of the last six games, including a hat trick against West Virginia Wesleyan.

Svensson, a native of Jaegerspris, Denmark, buried ten goals during the season to go with three assists. Svensson scored a hat trick at Glenville State and added braces versus Davis & Elkins and in a return home game against Glenville State. Svensson's 10 goals were tied for third in Division II among freshmen. Overall, Svensson had a hand in goals scored in seven games this fall.
With Tuesday's announcement, it marks the sixth straight season that Concord has had two or more all-region players dating back to 2017.
