SALEM, Va. – The Concord University women's track & field team used a mixture of events to find success at the Finn Pincus Invite hosted by Roanoke College Friday and Saturday.
The top finisher for CU was graduate student
Emily Wallace in the mile run as she split a time of 5:20.77 for a runner-up showing in the event. Freshman Sarah Turner came through in 6:16.20 in the event to place 23
rd.
Freshman
Izzy Williams placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a spring of 26.58 seconds.
In other sprint action, freshman
Nadiyah Abdussalaam clocked 9.98 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to place 11
th. Sophomore
Talayna Holmes was third in the 60-meter dash after a time of 8.03 seconds. Freshman
Marin Parker stopped the clock at 8.62 seconds for 15
th.
Over in the high jump, Abdussalaam and sophomore
Lilly Jackson tied for ninth in the high jump after both cleared 1.40 meters. Abdussalaam marked 4.89 meters in the long jump to finish sixth. Jackson had a showing of 4.62 meters, good enough for 12
th.
Continuing in the field events, graduate student
Abbey Wallace tossed 9.88 meters to place 22
nd in the shot put.
And freshman
Hayley Collins rounded out the top finishers for the Mountain Lions as her time of 2:50.68 in the 800-meter run was good enough for 25
th.
CU is back in action when travels to the VMI Winter Relays January 26-27.
