CREATING CHANCES
The Mountain Lions tied their season high in shots in a 2-1 non-conference win over Emory & Henry on Wednesday as it peppered the goal with 20 total shots in the game. CU previously had 20 shots in a 1-1 tie at Wheeling. Freshman forward Ignacio Alvarez Maina scored his first collegiate goal in Wednesday's victory. CU has scored two or more goals in three of seven games this season which is ahead of last year's pace when Concord scored multiple goals in seven of 18 games. Sophomore midfielder Tomas Kelly scored his second goal of the season on Wednesday while junior midfielders Fabian Amhof and Andre Nicholson both picked up their second assists.

PLAYING THE BEST
Concord plays Notre Dame for the 18th time in program history, but the Mountain Lions have never defeated NDC in 17 previous instances. Earlier this season, the Maroon and Gray went toe-to-toe with Charleston, falling 2-1. It was the smallest margin of defeat for CU against Charleston in 37 all-time meetings. Concord's only tie against Notre Dame came at the end of the 2016 season, 1-1 at home. The Mountain Lions played tough with the Falcons, then ranked 21st, at the end of last season as it lost 3-0, but only trailed 2-0 with 20 minutes remaining.

LATE DRAMA
Concord has made a habit of scoring in the second half as eight of the 10 goals recorded by the Maroon and Gray this fall has been in the second half. CU got its only goal at Wheeling in the 85th minute as Amhof pushed Concord ahead before Wheeling evened the game just a couple later in a 1-1 tie. Both goals versus Emory & Henry were scored in the second with Alvarez Maina's goal coming in the 50th minute and Kelly scoring in the 55th minute. Over the last seven meetings, the home team has not been victorious between CU and Wheeling. Concord posted the last home win in the series, 1-0 in October 2018.
