LUSITANIA, Portual – Former Concord University men's basketball standout
Lual Daniel Rahama has signed a professional contract with Lusitania of the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) in Portugal.
SC Lusitania plays in the top division of the 12-team LCB.
Rahama, a 2023 All-Mountain East Conference First Team pick and All-Atlantic Region Second Team selection, averaged 17.4 points and 10.2 rebounds this past winter for the Mountain Lions.
Last season, Lusitania went 12-20 and was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the LCB postseason. The club begins its 2023-24 season September 23.
Rahama received a brief glimpse against professional players this summer by playing on the Virginia Dream during The Basketball Tournament. He becomes the seventh different Concord player to sign a professional contract in the last eight years, including former teammate Matt Weir (Luxembourg) last season.
Tommy Bolte, Terry Hopewell, Simun Kovac, Rob Reed and Michael Sanchez have also signed pro deals in the last decade.
