SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Concord University baseball team received votes in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Regional Poll, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
CU slipped from the top 10 as it tallied nine votes and was the first team out of the weekly rankings.
Millersville was the top team in the poll by one point (84-83) over Seton Hill as MU gathered six first-place votes. Seton Hill received the final three first-place votes. Charleston (68 points) was third while East Stroudsburg (67) and West Chester (58) rounded out the top five.
Mercyhurst (40) led the back half of the poll. West Virginia State (32) was seventh. Bloomsburg (19) and Kutztown (18) were tightly bunched in eighth and ninth. Frostburg State (10) edged out Concord for the final spot.
California (Pa.) (six) and Shippensburg (one) were other teams to receive votes.
The Mountain Lions are coming off a 1-3 weekend versus nationally-ranked Charleston. Concord travels to Glenville State 1:00 p.m. Friday for the start of a four-game MEC South series. CU plays at home 1:00 p.m. Sunday versus GSU.
