 ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team continues its Mountain East Conference North road swing when it faces Alderson Broaddus 12:00 p.m. Sunday and Notre Dame 12:00 p.m. Monday in a pair of doubleheaders.

COMEBACK KIDS
CU split a road doubleheader at Frostburg State Monday as both games were decided by the same score, 4-3. Concord rallied in game one after trailing 3-1 with two outs in the top of the seventh. The Mountain Lions got within 3-2 of FSU before a go-ahead, two-run double by freshman catcher
Lorelai Ellerby. The Maroon and Gray erased the same deficit in game two's seventh inning, but Frostburg State scored in the bottom of the seventh. CU's game one win was the first time Concord erased a deficit of two runs or more in the seventh inning, and went on to win since March 2017 against West Virginia State when it trailed 6-3 in the seventh before winning 8-7 in nine innings. Two of the last four hits for Ellerby have been doubles.
RIDE THE MOMENTUM
At Frostburg State, sophomore outfielder/pitcher
Rachael Koller collected her third three-hit game of the season while senior outfielder
Jolie Privett bagged three hits in game two for her first three-hit game since last season at home against Alderson Broaddus. Graduate infielder
Sarah Thompson was 3-for-6 at Frostburg State with two RBI and two walks against the Bobcats. Privett is 6-for-13 over her last five games. ON THE ROAD AGAIN
For a second straight weekend, the Mountain Lions take to the road after playing Fairmont State and Frostburg State most recently. CU pays its first visit to Alderson Broaddus since the 2012 season, the year before head coach
Alyssa Morris' freshman season at Concord. The Maroon and Gray swept Alderson Broaddus last season at home as Thompson scored the game-winning run in a 10-inning, walkoff win in game one. Koller starred in an 8-1 win over AB in game with a two-RBI triple. Koller also struck out seven in seven innings and gave up an unearned run as the pitcher of record. Along with her three hits, Privett drove in two runs. The Mountain Lions' last two trips to Notre Dame have resulted in doubleheader splits, including a 2-1 win in 2021.

SCOUTING THE BATTLERS
Alderson Broaddus picked up a Thursday sweep of Bluefield State. AB has lost five of its last six conference games dating back to a sweep on April 8 of Fairmont State. Breonna Marietta is one of the best freshmen in the MEC as she has hit six home runs and driven in 28 runs, tied for 10
th in the conference. Alderson Broaddus has a team ERA of 5.86.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Notre Dame appeared in the first release of the NCAA Atlantic Regional Rankings on Wednesday. The 25 wins for NDC are the most since a 27-win campaign in 2015. The Falcons are two games back of Fairmont State for first place in the MEC North. Emma Gumont is batting a robust .359 this season to go with six home runs and 42 RBI, second in the MEC. Despite an 8-9 record, Grace Fisher has 113 strikeouts in 127.1 innings and a 2.75 ERA in the circle. Notre Dame won both games at Concord in 2022.
