SHUT EM DOWN
Junior pitcher Nancy-Jo Roberts put together one of her best outings in a Concord uniform in Wednesday's nine-inning, 1-0 victory over Glenville State as she struck out five and scattered seven singles against the Pioneers. It was Roberts' fourth shutout of the season which ties her for third-most in a single season in program history. Furthermore, the Saltville, Virginia native is one inning away from moving into the top 10 in program history in innings pitched in a single season as she is currently at 137. Wednesday's victory was the second 1-0 win of the season for Concord after the Mountain Lions downed Emory & Henry on the road March 21. Sophomore pitcher Caitlyn Bauer had nine strikeouts in that game and sophomore infielder Courtney Raines drove in the game's only run in the top of the seventh.

EVENLY MATCHED
In three of the last four regular-season doubleheaders, Concord and Fairmont State have split the twinbills, including last season in Athens. Behind a stellar pitching performance from Bauer, two hits and a run, Concord downed the Fighting Falcons, 3-1. Sophomore first baseman Kassidy Garvey had a two-RBI double in the game while Raines collected two hits. Two years ago at FSU, Concord blanked the home team 1-0 on a two-hit shutout from former standout Laura Thompson. Graduate infielder Sarah Thompson scored the game's only run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Thompson has a pair of doubles in her career versus the Fighting Falcons.

WALK IT OFF
In the 1-0 win over Glenville State, CU got its second walk-off victory of the season, and the first since February 8 versus Tusculum. Sophomore pitcher/outfielder Rachael Koller accounted for the RBI on a ninth-inning fielder's choice as junior outfielder Imani Campbell scored. The Mountain Lions had their own walk-off in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Frostburg State, 4-3 in eight innings. Sophomore outfielder Kayla McCraw, who tallied her second multi-game of the season in game two Wednesday, scored on a bases loaded walk versus Frostburg State. Thompson was 3-for-6 against the Bobcats last season with three RBI, including a two-run home run in game one. Koller was the winning pitcher in the second game in 2022 while also driving in two runs in a 5-3 victory.
